The Turkish bath according to Effegibi: personalised relaxation by Talocci design, excellent performance and exclusive design
The wellbeing of a traditional steam bath experience, teamed with cutting‑edge technological solutions designed to relax our bodies through all five senses. Research by Effegibi, founded in 1987 as a manufacturer of Finnish saunas, expanded with the Hammam Project at the beginning of the new millennium. These were personalised products to be installed in homes and wellness centres such as spas, gyms and beauty salons, real Turkish baths.
Keywords are: maximum ease of installation for the technical parts and accessories, meticulous planning provided by the company and high technical performance in even the smallest spaces. This was not just a simple adaptation of a shower box. Effegibi actually follows and assists correct installation of the project, which requires a series of precautions to be taken. From correct fitting of insulating material for the walls, installation of the steam generator and outlet, control panel and fittings through to tempered glass doors with ad hoc frames to hold in the steam and maintain the temperature.
Backed by the success of this programme, in 2006 Effegibi presented Omnia, an innovative system that built the extra‑small column into a hammam door able to contain all the connections, controls and main functions. The primary aim of miniaturising all the functions in a minimum volume led to the creation of Omniasteam, “your hammam in a door”: an openable glass panel combined with a floor to ceiling aluminium strip, 19 cm wide and 8 cm deep, featuring all the technology of a hammam with professional‑level performance.
Installation is simple and immediate. Just one vertical element houses: steam generator, temperature sensor, control panel, steam diffusion and forced‑air heating systems with hot shower and pre‑heating function.
Miniaturising the components was teamed with choice of minimal, intuitive design, summed up in the Effegibi Touch Philosophy: cutting‑edge control panels featuring backlit icons and temperature level display. The results are Touch&Steam, Aquasteam, Easysteam and Nuvola Touch.
Touch&Steam is a sheet of tempered glass with minimal design and size. A simple object that houses the steam generator together with the backlit touch screen controls: steam diffusion, hot shower, pre‑heating and white or chromotherapy lighting are some of the options that can be selected by simply touching.
The essence of Easysteam and Aquasteam, the project showcased at Cersaie 2010, can be summed up in just a few essential elements: a curved sheet of glass with digital controls, a spring of water and a bowl that recall the traditional hammam ritual of cool water showers during the steam bath. The water outlet is backlit and creates the wonderful effect of a natural spring. Aquasteam is also used as the steam generator for Logica, the system designed by Talocci Design, which harmoniously teams the ritual of Finnish saunas with that of Turkish baths. It comprises two adjacent spaces, sharing a showerhead, each featuring different technologies and materials: fine Canadian Hemlock wood for the sauna and laminated porcelain tiles for the hammam.
Nuvola Touch is the synthesis of the Effegibi experience in the production of cutting‑edge generators and use of digital technology. Understated design, white colour and small size allow any model from the line of generators to be installed on view, as an alternative to the creation of a hidden control unit over the shower space. Automated electronic control of Nuvola Touch combines functionality, simple use, duration, minimum maintenance and energy savings. The new really small touch panel makes use immediate and appealing.
The Nuvola Smart Power represents the most sophisticated technology for steam generation in existence, with a line of high powered steam generators suitable for both professional and domestic use. Easily integrated into any choice of furnishing, it is equipped with high tech sensors and mechanisms that enable the perfect management of temperature and steam density.
