The Jaw-Dropping Drone Footage of China’s Cherry Blossoms

There are few things more awe-inspiring than catching the annual explosion of cherry blossoms come spring time. In Japan, visitors are known to clamor for a glimpse of the delicate buds as they develop into a sea of pink, signaling the arrival of spring.

However, it’s not the only place to see these blooming trees — here in the Province of Guizhou of southwest China, hundreds and thousands of tourists gather to admire the flowers of cherry and apricot trees along with the azaleas.

A recent film caught from a BBC drone showcases the extraordinary natural landscapes at their peak. While the scene is stunning, the petals will remain vibrant for just a few weeks, which makes the cherry blossom a symbol for the fragility and beauty of life.
