The embracing warmth of wood characterises the home designed by Porada, with its elegant, original, evergreen style
A total look for Porada, which offers a home environment entirely created by the brand and its designers. And it was no coincidence that during the last Salone 2016, Porada exhibited in a 400 square metre stand, designed to represent an entire home distinguished by its well-defined and undoubtedly smart style. Alongside the collections specifically designed for the sleeping area, Porada introduced its new proposals for the living and dining areas, expanding the current collection. As it was easy to note, the main material used is wood, and in particular walnut, often used in two different colours, one lighter and one darker, combined in brand new, striking fusions. Natural or bronze brass also comes into play when it comes to choosing the materials. But let’s take a closer look at the various pieces of furniture.
The great new idea for the living area is the modular sofa Kirk by Carlo Ballabio, with rational forms that favour comfort and the freedom to match and combine different elements in the various domestic situations, a challenge for Porada, and also a way to come ever closer to the customer and the new requirements of contemporary living. The environments are finished with multi-purpose furniture and large mirrors, some of which feature two types of solid wood, such as the Ops mirror, by Umberto Asnago, in walnut and maple. A jewel among the upholstered pieces is the Liala armchair with “Vienna straw” detail in a square pattern.
One of the ventures launched during this Salone was the addition of a new entry to the team of designers, Andrea Borgogni, a participant in the Salone Satellite 2014, who proposed the Allison sofa. The piece, in the designer’s own words, “brings to the world of upholstery wood processed with a high level of craftsmanship and sculpted using the most modern design techniques. The solid wood frame is the soul of the design”. The living area, conceived as an oasis of peace, comes to life with the Jenny tables by Stefano Bigi, which provide a resting place for the delicate Jonny bird-spotlights.
Porada therefore proposes a contemporary home, but one that flirts a little with tradition, favouring the evergreen warmth of wood in its most effective combinations to the minimal excesses of modern design.
